We posted this Video to present How "Organized People" trumps "Organized Money".
That discussion (above link) has as its focus a "Top Down" Campaign Organization. This is not the approach to Community Organizing we will use in our California Action Network. We have a very different approach Community Organizing that trusts, empowers, includes, and respects the local teams.
As an example - you can not get fired as an Organizer in the C.A.N. We find this concept key, as it matters that we walk the talk and throw off saying one thing and doing another. Our experience is that Team and Message Integrity, where our words match our actions, matters totally. Grassroots 2.0 is not politics as usual. We say what we mean and we mean what we say. Where does this begin? Our Personal Narrative becomes our currency in our community. Our Group Narrative is what others can take to the Bank. We are interested in delivery - not propaganda. How do we do this? Here is the complete 2007 California based Camp Obama Program, for you to work with in your groups. At your Jelly's, you will spend time recruiting and organizing your Assembly Districts. How you do this will require you to develop your own Leadership Teams, elect your Leaders, and practice, practice, practice.

It takes about two days at 6 to 8 hours per day, for a Team to work thru this material. We urge you to budget your time accordingly. This complete program can easily be worked thru as a group - at the rate or 4 hours per weekend. If you spend 3 to 4 hours on Camp Obama, break for a group potluck or meal, and then spend 3 to 4 hours on your team Jelly - you will see the bonding and results on your own.
Here is what a Jelly is. Our application is more a focused Hybrid on Group Results for your Team.
Here is a tool that will help you work as a team. Think of this as your group work area. We will set one up for each Assembly District team - off our main web site URL: Example:
AD1.CaliforniaActionNetwork.com and Zone1.CaliforniaActionNetwork.com
These will require log in privileges. More later....
